Ten attractive coloured glasses, late 18th and early 19th centuries Four of deep emerald-green tint and with cup-shaped bowls, comprising two rib-moulded mead or champagne glasses, including one with a faintly ribbed hollow baluster stem, the other with a hollow wrythen stem, a roemer with three raspberry prunts on the hollow stem, the last engraved with a band of fruiting vine and with an angular-knopped stem, a wine of deep amber tint with a tulip bowl engraved with a border of fruiting vine, four glasses of deep turquoise-green tint, comprising a rib-moulded mead or champagne glass with a cup-shaped bowl on a stem with a central knop, a wine with a rib-moulded drawn tulip bowl, the last two with conical bowls set on graduated collars and angular-knopped stems, the taller perhaps a champagne or ale glass, together with a wine of deep amethyst tint with a conical bowl set on a baluster stem, 10.5cm to 14.2cm high (10) Footnotes: Provenance With Maureen Thompson (turquoise-green mead) With Cotswold Antiques, October 2013 (first mentioned) With Scottish Antiques (second mentioned and conical wine) With Delomosne and Son, 2016 (last two mentioned) Graham Slater Collection A very similar turquoise-green conical champagne or ale glass is illustrated by by Asprey in their exhibition catalogue, Green Glass 1740-1840 (1986), no.68, where it is attributed to the Newry Glass House in Ireland. Buyers' Premium and Charges


For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
