An engraved facet stem cordial glass and a wine glass, circa 1775-85 The cordial with a short flared ogee bowl decorated with a continuous border of flowers and fruiting vine below the rim, the base cut with facets and sprigs, the stem with a central swelling knop flanked by shoulder and basal knops cut with all-over diamond facets, the domed foot with a band of facets, 14.2cm high, the wine with an ogee bowl decorated with a chinoiserie landscape depicting a pagoda and bridge to an island among palm trees, together with an European building among further trees, on a diamond-faceted stem and conical foot, 14.9cm high (2) Footnotes: Provenance With Scottish Antiques, May 2015 (tallest) Karl-J E Liebetrau Collection, Dr Fischer Auctions, 18 March 2017, lot 56 (part) (shortest) With Athelny Antiques, June 2017 (shortest) Graham Slater Collection An identical cordial glass from the Henry Brown Collection is illustrated by W A Thorpe, A History of English and Irish Glass (1929), pl.CXVIII, no.1. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
