An impressive third quarter 19th century French gilt bronze clock garniture The movement stamped for Japy Frères The elaborate acanthus scrolling clock case in the Rococo taste surmounted by a twin handled urn and flanked by fruiting foliate fronds, the shaped bow fronted lobed base on scrolling feet, the 13 inch enamel Roman dial with outer Arabic fve minute track and foliate pierced gilt hands, set within a drum housing with rocaille scrolling bezel and glazed door, the brass twin train movement with Brocot type suspension and outside countwheel striking on a gong, with pendulum, the backplate with Japy Frères pastille mark, the matching seven light candelabra garniture supported on elaborate baluster and acanthus leaf supports, the six asymmetric scrolling arms with lobed baluster nozzles with corresponding collars and drip pans centred by a matching nozzle with detachable flowering foliate finials, raised on oval footed bases, together with a set of twelve associated scalloped glass drip pans for the candle nozzles, together with a set of twelve associated scalloped glass drip pans for the candle nozzles, the candelabra, 75cm high, 42 wide, the clock, 62cm high, 60 cm wide, 27cm deep approximately (3) This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: TP TP For auctions held in Scotland: Lots will be moved to an offsite storage location (Constantine, Constantine House, North Caldeen Road, Coatbridge ML5 4EF, Scotland, UK) and will only be available for collection from this location at the date stated in the catalogue. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
