Footnotes: Fashion designer Peter Golding, creator of the first 'designer jean' in 1970 and stretch denim in 1978, opened his flagship clothing store, Ace, in 1974, with signage produced by sculptural artist Andrew Logan. Golding's clientele included the Rolling Stones, Queen, Twiggy, David Bowie, Mary Quant, Diana, Princess of Wales, Marlon Brando, Richard Burton, Jack Nicholson, Ringo Starr and Cher, amongst others.
