c.1992 Honda EZ90 Cub Frame no. unable to locate Engine no. unable to locate Please kindly note that this motorbike will be available for viewing by prior appointment in Dortmund: please contact eva.lengler@bonhams.com for booking. Looking like a Morini Dart that had shrunk in the wash, the Honda EZ90 Cub was launched in 1991. Powered by a 90cc two-stroke engine, the futuristic-looking newcomer was intended to be the most easy-to-use motorcycle imaginable, intended to appeal to those intimidated by the perceived complexity of a conventional motorcycle. With that goal in mind the EZ90 featured automatic transmission, an electric starter, an enclosed drive chain, and easy-to-clean all-enveloping bodywork, the latter incorporating two lockable storage bins. Effectively an off-road scooter, the EZ90 also came with knobbly tyres and an under-engine bash-plate, endowing it with a measure of rough-stuff capability. The steel chassis featured mono-shock suspension at the rear and a telescopic fork up front, and there were drum brakes on both wheels. With a seat height of only 749mm (29.5'), the EZ90 appealed to younger riders and smaller lady motorcyclists alike. EZ90 production continued until 1996 and today this quirky little curiosity is highly collectible. This example comes with a photocopy owner's manual. Unfortunately it has not been possible to determine whether or not the engine turns over. Key present. Footnotes: Please kindly note that VAT at the prevailing german rate (currently 19%) will be added to the buyer's premium which will be invoiced on a VAT exclusive basis. If you are planning to export, please make the department aware. Lot to be sold without reserve.
