1952 BMW 247cc R25/2 Frame no. 232680 Engine no. 232680 Please kindly note that this motorbike will be available for viewing by prior appointment in Maldegem: please contact suzanne.kress@bonhamscars.com for booking BMW's first new post-war model, the 247cc R24, arrived in 1948 looking pretty much like the pre-war R23 of 1938 but producing an additional 2bhp. In mid-1950 the R24 was superseded by the R25, which featured plunger rear suspension but was otherwise very similar. An improved R25/2 version was introduced during 1951 incorporating a stronger crankshaft and minor revisions to the front mudguard stays and seat springing. This matching-numbers R25/2 was imported from Greece to the Netherlands mid 80', where it has been restored. An older restoration, this motorbike is believed to have only covered 11 kilometers since its restoration. The accompanying history file contains some old Greek documents, including Greeg registration document, and some restoration photos. Footnotes: Please kindly note that VAT at the prevailing belgian rate (currently 21%) will be added to the buyer's premium which will be invoiced on a VAT exclusive basis.
