A twin bladed wooden propeller to fit Cirrus Major III aero-engine, believed used in de Havilland DH60 Cirrus Moth III laminated wooden construction, stamped DRG Z5261/1, D6' P6.53, Cirrus Major III, 83009, each blade with metallic leading edges, cloth covered with remains of black and yellow tip painting to rear, 183cm long overall. Footnotes: The Cirrus III engine was used extensively in the Avro Avian Mk III and Mk IV in England. The Cirrus engine was originally designed in England after WWI by Major Frank Halford and Geoffrey de Havilland about 1924 and powered the first de Havilland 'Moth'. Halford went on to improve the engine which in various forms powered the Avro Avian among others. Geoffrey de Havilland saw the need for more power and took the same engine concept and developed the de Havilland 'Gypsy' series of engines which powered the subsequent 'Moths'.
