A Chita Rivera Group of Scripts from The Rink 1. MCNALLY, TERRENCE, JOHN KANDER, and FRED EBB. Xerographic Manuscript, 'The Rink: A New Musical,' 124 pp, 4to, March 10, 1983, housed in ecru 3-ring binder. 2. Another copy, March 10, 1983, in ICM wrappers, unmarked. 3. Another copy, incomplete, dated December 20, 1983 to February 9, 1984, comprising revision pages for the show, highlighted and annotated throughout by Chita Rivera, and with a copy of the show's production schedule issued November 30, 1983, with 'Chita' in ink to upper cover, housed together in blue folder. 4. Another copy, 124 pp, 4to, bound in light blue wrappers with typed label to upper cover, annotated in pencil throughout, some dampstaining and spotting. 5. Vocal Selections [from] The Rink. New York: Fiddleback Music Publishing Co., 1983. A thorough look at the evolution of The Rink through its original Broadway production. Kander and Ebb told Chita Rivera in the early 1980s that they were going to write a musical for her that would finally win her a much-deserved Tony® Award. It would be the first time Rivera worked with playwright Terrence McNally, whose script about a widowed proprietor of a roller rink who decides to sell out to developers only to run into resistance from her estranged daughter. Once it was announced that Chita was attached, Liza Minnelli reached out to Chita to see if she would consider her for the part of Angel. Chita of course agreed, and Kander and Ebb were thrilled at the prospect of two high-powered stars for their new musical. Lot to be sold without reserve. Buyers' Premium and Charges

28% on the first $50,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of $50,000 up to and including $1,000,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of $1,000,000 up to and including $6,000,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of $6,000,000.
A 3rd-party bidding platform fee (the "3rd-party bidding platform fee") equal to 4% of THE BID PRICE shall be payable by buyers whose successful bid is submitted via 3rd-party bidding platforms, including Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
