The shapes of these two lime pots presented in this sale are very popular. Directly Inspired by a Vietnamese legend, recounting the traditional origins of betel nut chewing, the design of the lime pot is meaningful, it incorporates three essential elements to betel nut chewing: the spherical or ovoid shape of the stone used to hold the lime (mixed with ground betel nut), the handle that becomes a betel palm (or betel nut), the source of the nut, and the betel nut vine that surrounds it. The betel nut and tendrils are moulded into the base of the handle and scattered over the spout of the pot.
