c.1999 Yamaha GTS1000 Frame no. 4BH036459 (from documents) Engine no. unable to locate Rated by Bike magazine as among the 50 'Coolest Bikes of all Time', and winner of the 'Rare Cool' category, the hub-centre-steered GTS1000 was unveiled to a disbelieving world back in 1993. 'Bold, daring, peerless, Yamaha's GTS1000 is the embodiment of unconventionality,' declared Britain's No.1 motorcycle magazine, continuing: 'Scarce, stylish, yet capable and completely usable: that's cool in our book.' As well as its 'funny' front end, the GTS1000 also incorporated electronic fuel injection and anti-lock brakes. It wasn't all new technology though, the engine being that of the FZR1000 EXUP, albeit tuned for touring rather than outright top-end speed. Expensive to develop and priced accordingly (at around 50% above rival flagship models from other manufacturers), the GTS1000 sold in relatively small numbers and is both rare and highly sought after today. This example of Yamaha's most exotic road bike is offered with a German Fahrzeugbrief (registration document). It has not been possible to determine whether or not the engine turns over. Offered with key Footnotes: Please kindly note that VAT at the prevailing german rate (currently 19%) will be added to the buyer's premium which will be invoiced on a VAT exclusive basis. If you are planning to export, please make the department aware. Lot to be sold without reserve.
