A good late 18th century mahogany brass-mounted triple pad top table clock with verge escapement John Wright, Dorking The case with three brass-mounted pads and central handle over fish-scale sound frets, cantered by a handle over an elaborate moulded cornice and fish-scale side frets, set on a moulded plinth base with ogee brass feet. The silvered dial, measuring xx inches, displays Roman and Arabic numerals, framed by engraved floral decoration and a strike/silent subsidiary. The center includes a calendar and signed John Wright, Dorking, with blued steel hands. The double fusee movement with verge escapement and short bob pendulum. The fully engraved backplate features a central urn surrounded by floral decoration. 43ch (17 inches) high Footnotes: John Wright was an established clockmaker in Dorking, actively working from 1771 to 1828. Buyers' Premium and Charges

27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
