ITO SHINSUI (1898-1972) AND YAMAKAWA SHUHO (1898-1944) Showa era (1926-1989), 1943 Two double oban tate-e bijinga prints, each with the original paper cover with a title: the first by Shinsui, titled Nanajunen mae no Shinbashi Eki (Shinbashi Station 70 years ago), depicting a bust portrait of a lady on a jinrikisha (rickshaw) holding a parasol, behind her the newly-opened Shinbashi Station in 1872, signed Shinsui ga with a seal Shinsui, 48.5cm x 37.8cm (19 1/8in x 14 7/8in); the second by Shuho, titled Genzai no Tokyo eki (Tokyo Station at the Present-Day), depicting a bust portrait of a lady against a background of Tokyo Station in 1942, signed Shuho with a seal Shuho, 49cm x 37.5cm (19¼in x 14¾in); both published by Watanabe Shozaburo, both with a Ginza Watanabe mokuhangaho kosaku seal along the lower left margin; together with the original chitsu cover attached with a paper slip titled Tetsudo nanajunen no imamukashi (70 Years of Japanese Railways: Past and Present), and a leaflet.
