Footnotes: Deriving from several paintings (here showing just the upper body rather than a full-length view) which reproduce a lost portrait of the powerful daughter of Suleyman the Magnificent (reg. 1522-66) by Titian, a work believed originally to have formed part of the collection of Bishop Paolo Giovio (1483-1552).
