c.1958 Excelsior 98cc F6S Consort Project Registration no. not registered (see text) Frame no. F6S/1942 Engine no. 605B3983 Excelsior's Consort ultra-lightweight first appeared in 1953 as the F4, with Villiers 4F engine and two-speed gearbox, changing to the 6F (foot change) unit for 1956. A plunger-suspended F6S version joined the range in 1957. The Consorts continued in production and were joined in 1958 by the new Consort CA8, a more up-to-date design featuring a telescopic front fork and swinging-arm frame. A year or so later a rigid-framed (F4F) version was reintroduced and the Consorts continued until the rigid model was dropped in 1963, to be followed a year later by the swinging-arm type, the plunger F6S having last been catalogued in 1959. Offered for restoration, this Lot consists of an F6S rolling chassis with loosely-attached tank and some separate engine components (bagged). It should be noted that the nearside crankcase is cracked at the top. The displayed vehicle registration '62 LEV' is absent from the HPI and DVLA databases and therefore the machine is offered unregistered. Prospective purchasers must satisfy themselves with regard to the condition, completeness, authenticity and compatibility of this motorcycle's component parts prior to bidding. Offered unregistered and without documents. Key not required Footnotes: All lots are sold 'as is/where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding.
