An extensive breakfast set painted by the artist Jiří Šorm (b. 1957), dated 1991-1992 Comprising a coffee pot, sugarbowl and cover, milk jug, six cups, six saucers, six white plates, six napkin rings, a flower vase, a name tag, the coffee pot and cover: 22.5cm high, the sugarbowl and cover: 10cm high, the milk jug: 10cm high, the cups: 6.7cm high, the saucers: 13.6cm diam., the plates: 19.0cm diam., the napkin rings: 5cm diam., the vase: 16cm high, artist signature and date in gilt to the base, manufacturer's mark 'Epiag D.F. Czechoslovakia/1804/Carlsbad' in gilt to base, Footnotes: Provenance: Designed and ordered as a unique set at the occasion of the reopening of the Savarin Casino in Prague for the owner; thence by descent The Savarin first opened its doors in 1905 with a wealth of Austro-Hungarian generals and the first Czechoslovak president, T.G. Masaryk being among the first to visit. It was later frequently visited by many notable guests including Jan Werich, Franz Kafka, and Ferdinand Peroutka. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
