Two Doccia figural elements, circa 1760 One a part-candlestick modelled as a boy holding a cornucopia on a right-angled group of rococo scrollwork, the other with two fauns flanked by dolphins, pierced holes for mounting, each left in the white, 19.8cm wide and 12.8cm high respectively (2) Footnotes: Provenance: Anon. sale in these Rooms, 3 December 2008, lot 52; Mavis Bimson Collection Another group with similar fauns is illustrated in Klaus Lankheit, Die Modellsammlung der Porzellanmanufaktur Doccia (1982), no.240. These figural Doccia objects often are found separated from their larger context. One spectacular example of full integration of the sculptural elements in a large table-centrepiece can be found in the Villa Cagnola, Varese, where elements such as the supporting fauns can be found in their wider context. This table-centrepiece and its elements were most recently published by Rita Balleri in Fragili Tesori dei Principi, le vie della porcellana tra Vienna e Firenze (2018), no.101, pp.260 f. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
