A Sèvres hard-paste plate from the 'service fleurettes et papillons colorés' for Charles X, circa 1821-22 The blue forget-me-not swags alternated with single pink forget-me-nots under a gilt stiff-leaf border, the well with concentric bands of the same flowers, 23.7cm diam., printed mark of interlacing double L, enclosing 'Sèvres' and date '21', C.D. in black script (some rubbing) Footnotes: Provenance: Anon. collection, Osenat, Versailles, 8 December 2019, lot 257 The service, described as 'service fleurettes et papillons colorés' in the sale records in 1822, was partly delivered to the château de Compiègne in 1824 on the occasion of Charles X's first stay at the palace. There were subsequent deliveries to Compiègne between 1826 and 1830. However, part of the service never went to the château and the remainder was purchased by a M. Roux in 1834. None of the service remained at Compiègne, but the collection now houses several pieces thanks to donations in more recent years. A pair of plates from the service, this time with butterflies, were sold in these rooms, 6 July 2021, lot 203, two more in these rooms, 7 December 2022, lots 175 and 176, and two dessert plates at Christie's London, 27 November 2013, lot 45, and another plate in these rooms, 6 December 2023, lot 208.
