A Sèvres plate from the comte de Ségur service, dated 1812 Decorated with a pale yellow ground border painted with a berried vine within purple and green scroll motifs, the well with a similar motif in the centre surrounded by a gilt border of palmettes and scrolls, the edge of the well with a formal gilt border, 24cm diam., stamped 'M. Imp.le/de Sèvres/1812' in iron-red, gilder's marks, painter's mark 'B' in iron-red (rubbing to well) Footnotes: Provenance: Delivered to the comte de Ségur, Master of Ceremonies, on 6 March 1812. These plates are from a service listed in the sales records of July 1811 as a 'service à marly Fond nankin frise de lierre coloriée' (Arch. MNS, Vu1, fol. 166v and 117) received by Louise Philippe, comte de Ségur, as a gift from Napoleon following the latter's 1810 marriage to his second wife Marie Louise. The service is illustrated in Camille Leprince, Napoléon Ier & Sèvres, 2016, p. 287, no. 177. An identical pair of plates from the same service was sold in these Rooms, 7 July 2022, lot 179.
