APOLLO 9: A PAIR OF 'RED NUMBER' PHOTOS OF LUNAR MODULE 'SPIDER' 3 items: 3 color prints on fiber-based photographic paper with 'A Kodak Paper' watermark, 20 x 25 cm (8 x 10 inches), the first NASA / AS9-21-3199 in red ink to recto and with NASA logo and information in purple ink on verso; the second with NASA / AS9-21-3183 in red ink to recto; the third with 'NASA/AST-2-93' in red ink to recto and printed label to verso identifying the print of the Apollo-Soyez module in space as coming from Deke Slayton's collection. The text on the verso of AS9-21-3199 identifies the image as that of the Apollo 9 Lunar Module in a lunar landing configuration: 'The lunar Module 'Spider' is flying upside down in relation to the earth below. The landing gear on the 'Spider' has been deployed. Lunar surface probes (sensors) extend out from the landing great foot pads.' Astronauts McDivitt and Schweickart prepared to land on the surface of the moon while Astronaut Dave Scott remained at the controls of the command module.
