Michael Foley (Irish, born 1963) Cogitare signed and dated 'FOLEY 2014' (towards the base) polished stainless steel, on a polished Kilkenny marble base 90.5 cm. (35 5/8 in.) high (including the marble base) Footnotes: Provenance Private Collection, U.K. Michael Foley is a contemporary Irish sculptor born in Dublin in 1963 who joined CAST foundry in Dublin in 2001 where he first honed his skills working with bronze and stainless steel. His work is characterised by a mastery of form in metal working in polished steel or polished / patinated bronze and takes inspiration from natural forms and textures to create sculptural forms that display harmony through contrasting contours and form. This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: * * VAT on imported items at a reduced rate of 13.5% on the hammer price and the prevailing rate on buyer's premium if the item remains in EU. 28% on the first €40,000 of the Hammer Price
27% from €40,001 to €800,000 of the Hammer Price
21% from €800,001 to €4,500,000 of the Hammer Price
14.5% on the excess over €4,500,000 of the Hammer Price
