Footnotes: Provenance Sale; Morgan O'Driscoll, Cork, 29 April 2019, lot 23, where acquired by the present owner Private Collection, Ireland A landscape and portrait painter, Frank McKelvey was born in Belfast on June 3rd 1895. He worked as a poster designer before attending the Belfast School of Art and in 1917 he won the prestigious Taylor Art competition in Dublin.
