Rory Gallagher: A Vintage Four-Course Bouzouki, Natural finish, bound top with decorative pickguard inlay, oval soundhole with Ideal pickup fitted, bowl back, maple neck, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with dot markers, quarter jack, headstock with four-a-side plastic tuners, in soft vinyl case, CITES 24GBA10DIXCP7, 38 1/2in (98cm) long Footnotes: Rory purchased this instrument in Cork, Ireland. Rory was a great fan of Greek musician Manolis Chiotis (1921-1970), a virtuoso of the bouzouki. Chiotis popularised the four-course bouzouki (four pairs of strings), with its guitar-like tuning intervals enabling players to play faster and creating backing chords for a singer. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
