A Chelsea dish, a Bow coffee cup and a Bow bowl, circa 1750-55 The dish of hexafoil shape, painted in kakiemon palette with two long-tailed pheonix-like birds, one perched on a prunus behind banded hedges and bamboo, a second bird diving in flight, with a red and gold dense foliate border, 18.3cm diam, the coffee cup painted in 'Two Quail' pattern, 5.7cm, the bowl painted in the Imari palette, flowering oriental plants sprouting from hollow rockwork and a large flying insect, a diaper border below the rim, 15.2cm diam (3) Footnotes: Provenance Elizabeth Adams Collection A Chelsea 'ten-square' dish decorated in the same pattern was sold by Bonhams on 14 April 2010, lot 73.
