A GOLD-SPLASHED BRONZE QUATREFOIL INCENSE BURNER Xuande six-character mark, 17th century The lobed vessel with tapering sides and raised slightly on four arched feet, flanked by a pair of handles, the body with a warm brown patina and irregular gold splashes. 17.5cm (6 7/8in) wide. The form of this piece is rare among gold-splashed bronze wares. Compare with a gilt-splashed bronze quatrefoil censer of similar shape but supported on four cabriole feet, 17th/18th century, which was sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 4th October 2018, lot 132.
