Two brass cased bulkhead marine instruments formerly the property of Dr Dudley Benjafield, comprising a Sestrel 8 day marine clock with key and a matching Sestrel Barometer, both retailed by Pascall Atkey & Son Ltd, Cowes, Isle of Wight, (some wear) both with bezel of 14.5cm diameter; sold together with three period photographs of Dr Dudley Benjafield's two-masted ketch 'Joanna' circa 1944. (6) Footnotes: Dr Dudley Benjafield had what he described as 'a quiet hankering for boats'. These instruments were fitted to his two-mascot ketch 'Joanna' owned in 1944 and sailed by him around the Isle of Man and to and from Norway. In 1945, when his Harley Street practice resumed in earnest after the war he sold the ketch but kept the instruments.
