A group of three Ettore Bugatti Fabrique d'Automobiles letters, 1948-1951, the letters written to Ottorino Volonterio and each relating to his Bugatti Type 57. The first (1948) congratulating Monsieur Volonterio on his class win and discusses shock absorbers and carburation, the second (1950) discussing triple diffuser carburation and the gains of mounting a supercharger for the Type 57c, the third (1951) discussing the fitting of twin shoe Lockheed hydraulic brakes, together with a Bugatti headed bill dated 1973 for works carried out to Monsieur Volonterio's Type 57. (4) Footnotes: Ottorino Volonterio, Born in 1917 the son of a lawyer and Mayor of Locarno. He owned a 1936 Bugatti Atalante which he purchased in 1945 after the Second World War, owning it until 1979.
