Born out of wedlock, Theo was raised by an aunt under his mother's maiden name. After serving time in the Royal Air Force, Theo established himself in business and eventually discovered his real name. His exploration into the world of objets d'art was clearly natural to the budding artist, eventually taking in commissions from notable collectors of Carl Fabergé and from museums such as the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
