He completed these works between the end of the 1850s to the early 1880s. At this time, few artists were creating works of this kind and Hagedorn took full advantage of this. A number of Hagedorn's works have been replicated into engravings and lithographs, and several of his works are held at museums in Brazil, the United States and Europe.
