An English slipware pot, inscribed and dated 1799 Of large size, the flared cylindrical form with a turn-over rim, an aperture in the base, the red body trailed in honey-coloured slip with the sgraffito inscription 'Success to the British Neavy [sic], God Save the King, 1799', 'S B 1799' trailed below, framed by waved and dashed borders, 21cm high Footnotes: A jug dated 1803 probably from the same workshop, is illustrated by David Barker and Steve Crompton, Slipware in the Collection of the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery (2007), p.74, acc. no. 2766.
