A 14K GOLD MANUAL WIND BRACELET WATCH Model: Polyplan Reference: 44002 Date: c. 1912 Movement: Jeweled manual wind, No. 00783 Dial: White Case: Tonneau form, snap on case back, No. 400943 Strap/Bracelet: 14k gold mesh link Buckle/Clasp: 14k gold folding clasp Signed: Case, dial and movement Size: 19 x 25mm Accompaniments: None Footnotes: Case design for wristwatches in the 1910s was typically in lozenge, oval and elliptical shapes. Amongst them, the Movado 'Polyplan' had the most unusual case of all. The watch was designed in an elongated oval or rectangular shape designed to fit the contour of the wrist. The movement was therefore specially designed on three planes to follow the curve and the crown was positioned at 12 o'clock at the top of the watch.
