A CASED AND ENGRAVED MOORE'S PATENT SINGLE ACTION BELT REVOLVER MANUFACTURED FOR SMITH & WESSON, c. 1861-63. Serial number 7096, .32 rimfire octagonal blued barrel marked on the top 'MANF'D FOR SMITH & WESSON BY MOORE'S PAT. FIRE ARMS Co.,' blued seven-shot cylinder marked 'PATENTED APRIL 3, 1855 & SEPT. 18. 1860.'; foliate scroll engraved and silvered brass frame, trigger guard and grip strap, smooth walnut grips; mahogany case opening to a compartmented and red velvet lined interior with an original box of .32 center fire cartridges. Barrel lg. 5, overall lg. 9 3/4 in. Condition: Bluing is approx. 90% with scattered areas/spots of plum/brown oxidation on the barrel and a turn line on the cylinder; silvering tarnished but is approx. 98% with just small areas of wear exposing the brass below, hammer retains good case coloring, trigger is blue, grip is near excellent with only minor wear at the high areas, action functions properly; case is very good, lining is quite faded.
