A FINE CASED PAIR OF METROPOLITAN POLICE MODEL REVOLVERS, c. 1864-66. Serial numbers 2211 and 3193, .36 caliber round barrels, the barrel of 2211 unmarked, the barrel of 3193 marked 'METROPOLITAN ARMS Co. NEW-YORK'; fluted five-shot cylinders, case-colored frames, silvered brass trigger guards and grip frames, walnut grips, all visible serial numbers match including the wedges; both housed in a hard wood case opening to a compartmented and purple lined interior with steel ball/bullet mold, embossed copper powder flask, and a tin of Eley caps. Barrel lg. 4 1/2, overall lg. 9 1/2 in. Condition: Very good overall condition, 2211 retains nearly 100% overall bluing, case colors on the frame and hammer are strong, silvering on the trigger guard and grip frame are approx. 60%, grip is very good, action functions properly; 3193 retains 80% overall bluing with the most loss being on the cylinder, case colors on the frame and hammer are strong, silvering on the trigger guard and grip frame are approx. 95%, grip has minor wear and a chip on the right side, action functions properly; case is very good and accessories are very good.
