A CASED MANHATTAN SIX-SHOT PEPPERBOX PISTOL, c. 1856-59. Serial number 23, .31 caliber, blued barrel marked 'CAST STEEL,' foliate scroll engraved frame, hammer marked 'MANHATTAN F.A. MF'G. CO./NEW YORK,' smooth walnut grips; housed in a mahogany case opening to a compartmented and blued velvet lined interior with a brass powder flask, steel two-ball shot mold, a pasteboard box of J. Goldmark Anticorrosive caps, and a cleaning rod. Barrel lg. 5, overall lg. 8 1/4 in. Condition: Barrel retains approx. 95% bluing, frame is toned to mottled gray/brown with traces of bluing in the recesses, grips have dings and dents, action functions properly; case is very good, accessories are good.
