A CASED MANHATTAN NAVY MODEL SERIES III REVOLVER, Newark, New Jersey, 1861-64. Serial number 27483, .36 caliber octagonal barrel marked on the top 'MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS Co. NEWARK N.J.' with loading lever below; five-shot roller engraved cylinder with five scenes marked 'PATENT DEC 27. 1859'; steel frame, with brass trigger guard and grip strap; walnut grip, all visible serial numbers match including the wedge; housed in a later mahogany case opening to a compartmented and blue corduroy lined interior with a screwdriver and a F. Joyce & Co. cap tin. Barrel lg. 6 ½, overall lg. 11 ¾ in. Condition: Barrel bluing is approx. 30%, cylinder toned to gray, scene is strong, frame case colors are fading, no silvering remains on the trigger guard and back strap, grip has minor ding and dents, action functions properly; case is good with some interior stains.
