A CASED PAIR OF FRENCH LE PAGE TWO-SHOT PERCUSSION PISTOLS, Paris, second quarter of the 19th century. The pair numbered 1 & 2 set up to fire stacked charges, with 7 3/4 in., .46 caliber rifled octagonal Damascus barrels with etched foliate scroll decoration, the top with etched inscription 'Le Page Arqer du Roi Paris'; lock plates with engraved foliate scroll decoration and 'LE PAGE A PARIS' and 'ARQER DU ROI' and double hammers; foliate scroll carved walnut stocks with long foliate scroll engraved barrel tangs and conforming trigger guards and butt caps; housed in a mahogany orange velvet lined and compartmented case with a steel cleaning rod, brass powder flask, single cavity ball mold, barrel wrench, screw driver and horn cap box, the lid of the case with inset German silver plate engraved with a coat of arms. Overall lg. 12 1/4 in. Condition: Good overall condition, barrels have scattered brown toning but mostly vivid Damascus texture, frame retains the majority of the case coloring, stocks have very minor blemishes, actions function properly, one hammer is cracked; case scattered scratches on the exterior, case lining shows some wear and staining, accessories are in good overall condition.
