A FLEMISH FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOL, c. 1720-40. 13 3/4 in., .62 caliber barrel with sculpted breech and raised flat extending to the brass blade front sight; curved flat lock plate with stepped tail, with an engraved dragon and 'STREGNAT' below the faceted pan; walnut stock with raised plateaus around the lock, breech plug tang, side plate, barrel and rammer channels; brass furniture with molded foliate scroll decoration, trigger guard with pointed leaf finial, butt cap with long ears, openwork side plate, thumb piece, rammer and entry pipes, wood rammer with flat brass tip. Overall lg. 20 1/2 in. Condition: Iron toned to mottled brown; stock has losses around the rear of the lock mortice and where the butt cap meets the wood on the right side and at the left side ear, there is a crack near the forward side nail; brass is toned to dark yellow, butt cap is loose, action functions properly.
