AN ARCHEOLOGICAL REVIVAL GOLD BRACELET, WITH AN ADDITON BY WILLIAM HARPER The bracelet 19th century, designed as a hinged bangle with partial micromosaic scene depicting Aurora after Guido Reni, flanked by miromosaic plaques, reverse with finely applied bead and wirework, and centering additions of Roman glass set by William Harper, weight 32.6 dwt, interior circumference 7 7/8 in. Footnotes: William Harper was born in 1944, in Bucyrus, Ohio. In the 1960s, he studied under the enamellist Kenneth Bates at the Cleveland Institute of Art. He is best known for his richly colored cloisonne enameled jewelry and objects. His work is in the Smithsonian and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
