Two George III coloured scroll paper or filigree 'quill work' tea caddies The first of giltwood framed elongated hexagonal form, the hinged lid with a central twin anthemion and multi-oval motif and gilt brass ring handle, the sides decorated with swagged pendant teardrops, the inner cover with bone finial handle enclosing a foil lined divided interior, the second of glazed mahogany and boxwood framed canted rectangular form, the lid with a central gilt teardrop star motif within a simulated green moss scrolling ground with gilt brass D'shaped ring handle, the lower front panel inset with a painted oval watercolour scene depicting a rustic bridge and waterfall, the other panels with rainbow, interlaced guilloche, oval tablet and open scrolling vase decoration on a crushed coloured mica and scrollwork ground, the inner cover with brass button handle enclosing a foil lined interior, the paper decoration now with typical fading in places, the front glazed panel to the second caddy cracked and now loose, slips to the inlaid frame requiring some attention, the first, 15cm high overall, 18cm wide, 10cm deep, the second, 16cm high overall, 14cm wide, 9.5cm deep (2) For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
