A Very Rare 22-Bore English-Lock (Type 2) Military Holster Pistol Mid-17th Century With two-stage barrel cut with double lines at the girdle, octagonal breech becoming polygonal and incised 'I' in front of the touch-hole, plain tang, flat lock with stepped pointed tail and retained by three side-nails (one replaced), separate pan secured by an external screw, horizontally acting sear (parts replaced), and dog catch engaging with the bellied ring-neck cock, figured full stock (old damage at the muzzle and rear wedge-pin entry) with raised apron around the tang (minor chip), iron mounts comprising slender band around the ovoidal pommel, trigger-guard secured by a nail through the tang and a screw through the pointed finial and engaging with the barrel tang, single fretted ramrod-pipe with incised double lines, and later ramrod (some old wear and rust patination), London proof marks and indistinct barrelsmith's mark 32.5 cm. barrel Footnotes: Literature John S.
