FOUR SILVER AND SILVER-PLATED TABLE ITEMS Europe, c. 1800. Assembled group includes: A small footed tureen with cast handles joined to sides with lion mask terminals, ledged to hold a warming pan, a coved lid with removable cast handle, and a conforming tray raised on ball feet. All pieces have applied gadrooned border, the covered dish parts all impressed '1' and the tray is impressed with initials M.S. alongside a Sovereign's Head, Lion Passant, and date code 'U' (possibly 1815-6). The cover is engraved on one side with the Latin motto 'ARMA TUENTUR FACEM' (arms maintain peace) above the heraldic emblem of a knife-wielding right arm. Minor surface imperfections, possibly modified. One coffee pot with hinged lid and turned wooden handle, chased and engraved pear-shaped urn raised on three cast therm legs with satyr heads terminating in hoof feet. Unidentified European marks. Two gold-plated Sterling silver ladles, one with a pierced bowl, both engraved with a heraldic emblem of a rooster on the threaded fiddle pattern handles and hallmarked on reverse: Lion Passant, Crowned Leopard's Head, date code 't' (1794-5), Sovereign's Head, and maker's mark 'GS / WF' for George Smith III & William Fearn of London, England. In very good condition with gilding loss., largest, 22cm wide, 15cm deep, 15cm high (9in wide, 6 3/4in deep, 6in high).
