Rock Crystal Carving Depicting a Flock of Storks by Luis Alberto Quispe Aparacio Depicting five adult and two juvenile storks, each rendered in highly transparent rock crystal quartz, with ruby beaks and ruby cabochon eyes rimmed in 18K yellow gold. The gold vermeil legs rest upon natural black fossil base with numerous ammonites. Measuring 15 x 13 x 9 in Footnotes: Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio Following a second-generation family tradition in the fabrication of objects d'art, Luis' studio specializes in the carving of ruby. The second hardest stone after diamond, few artists have managed to successfully work this mineral since it requires a very advanced technique for carving and polishing. His works are displayed in museums in the United States and Europe and are enjoyed by private collectors around the world. Lot to be sold without reserve.
