London: Printed for J. Stockdale, 1783. 8vo (212 x 130 mm). Without portrait of Washington; List of the Presidents of the American Congress, and 3 pp of ads at rear. Contemporary quarter calf and marbled boards, red morocco gilt lettering piece on spine. Rubbed, corners and spine ends bumped, lacking portrait frontispiece, title page slightly loose, underlining and some marginalia throughout, scattered browning. Provenance: Thomas Davies (ownership inscription on title page). SECOND EDITION. Howes C-716; Sabin 16088. SOLD TO BENEFIT THE BLACK MOUNTAIN INSTITUTE.
