A MINO STONEWARE KORO (INCENSE BURNER) Shino type, Momoyama (1573-1615) or Edo (1615-1868) period (1615-1868), 17th century The stoneware vessel set on three feet, the cylindrical body tapering toward the neck and flaring out to a flat rim, decorated in brown iron oxide with floral and geometric designs contained within rectangular registers, the neck painted with concentric rings and the rim with radiating lines, all covered in creamy glaze with an even crackle, the bronze cover pierced with heraldic crests and floral designs 3 3/8in (8.5cm) high Footnotes: Provenance Previously sold, Christie's, London, November 13, 2002, lot 231 Lot to be sold without reserve.
