A Louis XVI ormolu mounted amaranth, bois satine and tulipwood petit commode by Pierre Francois Guignard (1740-1794) Circa 1775 Inlaid with stringing, the moulded marble top with projecting angles, above three long drawers each inlaid with a re-entrant tablet surround, flanked by sunflower head mounts, on square tapering legs capped with guttae mounts, the top stamped: 'P.F. GUIGNARD', 65cm wide x 44.5cm deep x 85.5cm high, (25 1/2in wide x 17 1/2in deep x 33 1/2in high) Footnotes: Provenance Property of a private UK collector. Pierre Francois Guignard recu maitre en 1767.
