A late 19th century/early 20th century French gilt bronze mounted white marble lyre clock garniture In the Louis XVI style, the movement signed F.D.CERVAIS, Paris within an oval and numbered 1478 The clock with applied fruiting laurel rosette and floral garland mounts, surmounted by a sunburst female mask finial, on moulded swept circular plinth base with further applied ribbon tied floral garlands and banded and beaded borders, on bun feet, the 4.25' floral enamelled Arabic dial with outer quarter hour Arabic track, and fancy pierced brass hands, encircled by a rotating grid iron articulated paste bezel, the twin train brass movement striking on a bell, the concealed pendulum bob also marked 1478, with key, the matching four light floral vase candelabrum garniture, on rams head tripartite hoof feet, united by matching paste girdles, on shaped platform bases and bun feet, the clock 51cm high, 24cm wide, 13.5cm deep, the candelabrum 43cm high, 14cm diameter (3) This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: TP TP For auctions held in Scotland: Lots will be moved to an offsite storage location (Constantine, Constantine House, North Caldeen Road, Coatbridge ML5 4EF, Scotland, UK) and will only be available for collection from this location at the date stated in the catalogue.
