A George II mahogany card table 1750-1760, probably Irish Of rectangular outline with projecting shaped eared angles, the hinged top enclosing four circular dished recesses and four sunken playing counter wells (the baize playing surface has been removed), above one short frieze drawer, on four scroll eared, shell and bellflower carved cabriole legs terminating in faceted pad feet, 90.5cm wide x 43cm deep x 72.5cm high, (35 1/2in wide x 16 1/2in deep x 28 1/2in high) Footnotes: The scallop shell carving to the legs, the shaping to the frieze and the faceting to the feet on the offered lot are all characteristics often associated with mid Georgian mahogany furniture produced in Ireland.
