Recompensé lors de l'exposition universelle de l'année suivante, il dépose de nombreux dessins de chatelaines et se place parmi les meilleurs bijoutiers de son époque pour la fabrication de broches, boutons de manchettes, bracelets, épingles de coiffure, en atteignant une clientèle fortunée et internationale. Il se démarque par ses ciselures accomplies que l'on retrouve sur cette broche, ses émaux et ses dessins aux mouvements végétaux élaborés qui l'inscriront parmi les leaders de l'Art Nouveau. From a renowned family of goldsmiths, Louis AUCOC sets up as a jeweller on rue de la Paix in Paris from 1877. Rewarded notably at the Universal Exhibition of the following year, he registered numerous designs for chatelaines and established himself as one of the leading jewellers of his time, making brooches, cufflinks, bracelets and hairpins, in particular for a wealthy international clientele. He stood out for his applied chiselling, as seen on this brooch, his enamels and his floral designs, and was one of the leaders of the Art Nouveau movement.
