Contemporary blind-ruled vellum, ink titles on spine. Stains and soiling to covers, armorial bookplate on verso of title, dampstaining to outside edges through early leaves (to approximately leaf I5), ink stain to upper margin through leaf Q3. Provenance Dr. Erhard Horn (Horz?), Stuttgart (ink inscription on title page). Later edition of this popular surgical textbook, first printed in 1617, by 'one of the great Paduan anatomists and teachers, pupil of Fallopius, teacher of Harvey, and friend of Galileo' (Heirs).
