WELD'S TRAVELS.... WELD, ISAAC, JR. 1774-1856. Travels Through the States of North America, and in the Provinces of Upper and Lower Canada, during the years 1795, 1796, and 1797. London: John Stockdale, 1799. 4to. With 11 engraved views, 2 plans, and 3 maps, one of which is hand colored in outline. Full calf, black label and gilt to spine. Light spotting to interiors; shelfwear. FIRST EDITION of Weld's popular narrative of his travels through North America, written as a series of letters in which he expresses his contempt for the rough manners of the American frontiersman.
