Modern full calf in a 17th century style, a.e.g. Lacks first and final blank leaves, without 'b' gathering found in later issues, early marginalia, engraved title repaired and rehinged, some faint dampstain throughout, several brief marginal repairs, binding with some shelfwear. FIRST EDITION of the Thomas Lodge's translation. This presumably an early issue without the Epistola and Latin verses headed 'In Momum' found in later copies and signed 'b.'
